Flash Element TD2 Review

Hello! I'm Wizky and I'm going to be reviewing Flash Element TD 2, a Tower Defence game where your objective is to kill all the "creeps" before they grab your elements at the end of the map and bring them back to the beginning by building towers. Flash Element TD 2 can be found on Kongregate and Casual Collective.

GRAPHICS: (8/10): The text can be easily read on their backgrounds, you can tell whether you can or cannot build somewhere, the towers are the same colour as their element, so you can tell which element you need for certain towers, and the maps have fine detail. There are quality settings also for slower computers. My only criticisms would be for the towers to have more detail than a rectangle with a square, or a circle with a line through it.

SOUND: (9/10): There are different sound effects for each towers firing, death sounds, starting comments for each type of creep (eg. STICK TOGETHER TEAM for grouped creeps), round completion comments for each type of creep (eg. Safety in number my arse! for grouped creeps) and sounds for rolling over some of the buttons (not all of them though, only a minority). The voices can be turned off in the Options menu if you don't like them, or you can turn off all sound by rolling over the speaker icon and using the slider.

GAMEPLAY: (9/10): 50 levels of of fun on three different maps, for Easy, Medium and Hard difficulties. There are several different types of creep with different abilities, different towers available when you own each element, and a box to display information about certain creeps, which activates when you select one of them. There's a token system too, where you win 10 tokens if you complete 7 rounds, with a Boss creep(s) at on each 7th round, which can be spent on some different things in the Store tab after each level. The game can be fast-forwarded, which is also a nice addition.

CONTROLS: (10/10): Mouse controlled completely, although you can use hotkeys to place towers, and some other hotkeys to do various things like open the options, spawn the next wave or mute.

DIFFICULTY: (7/10): The game gets pretty hard fast, pushing you to buy more towers and upgrade your current ones whilst preparing for the boss, done at a good pace on each map type, so this works with their difficulties well.

REPLAYABILITY: (7/10): After you complete each difficulty, you can select another, more difficult one, which each have different path layouts.

OVERALL SUMMARY (8/10): Looks good, sounds good, plays good. Overall fun game, I recommend you give this a play.
